Are Facebook Groups Still Effective In 2022?

Do Facebook Groups Work In 2022

They are definitely still a powerful tool to use in 2022 and I think this is going to be around forever because communities they’re always there.

They’ve always existed and they will always exist because as humans we love connection. We love talking with people so communities, whether that’s on facebook or another platform are always going to be around.

Why People Crush It With Facebook Groups

People are just really crushing it because you can build an awesome business community online without having to worry too much about all these little intricacies.

It’s really easy to kind of bring people in and create that ecosystem where you can sell to them.

Mistakes To Avoid With Your Facebook Group

I think the biggest mistake people make that I’ve seen people make is not treating it like a long-term strategy.

I think a lot of people start their group and they start pitching straight away. They’ve got sales pitches and they’re just posting all their stuff like “hey buy my course”.

It’s not the way to approach a group at all. A group is a long-term asset that you build.

It’s your own audience that you’re building essentially. It’s similar to building an email list right, you’re building your own audience that you can continuously market to.

So you want to go about it in a smart way. Instead of just kind of ruining that vision that you have for the group right from the get-go, which happens when you start pitching too soon and just treating people like crap.

Build Up Founding Members Before You Pitch Anything

I like to do what I call the founding members.

This is focussing on the first 100 to 200 people who join your group.

I really focus on creating these deep connections with them and just giving them so much value that they look at you as like a friend.

That’s really important to do that because if you can inspire 100 to 200 people to continuously engage in the group that just spirals the engagement and and everyone else who joins sees that happening and they’re going to want to be a part of this group too.

Using Zoom To Take Relationships To The Next Level

I think Q and A calls work a lot better than just having you speaking on a live stream because then it’s more interactive.

You get five or ten people from the group into a zoom call and you all just like to run through different questions and that’s a really interesting way to do it. You can also have guests on. That’s a really great way to build some authority and credibility.

Especially if you get some high tier guests to jump on and do live streams with you you get to borrow their authority basically.

Posting Your Everyday Life Makes People Bond With You

You want to be posting a bunch of character building posts as well. Just showing you and your lifestyle and who you are as a person because it’s personal branding after all. You really need to show that through your group that “this is me, this is my life and this is what’s going”.

That really helps people to connect with you because it’s not just about authority it’s also about connection as well.

How To Monetize Your Group

Once you exceed 200 to 500 members,  you really want to start focusing on your monetization strategy.

I would strongly recommend doing what’s called appointment setting. For every new group member who joins, you’re sending them a message um and there’s a process to follow. You treat your group like a funnel for everyone who joins the group.

Facebook Group Monetization Process

You want to clearly map that out. Here is an example.

When someone joins the group.

1) Tag them in the welcome post

2) They’re going to be tagged in a couple other posts as well

3) Then they’re going to be sent a message in messenger. We send them a message saying, “hey thanks for joining the group, I just wanted to know if you wanted this xyz resource that might help you out.”

Some Things To Remember

Whatever you say has to be specific to whatever the key issues you’re targeting.

Then basically from that conversation, that’s where you’re asking more questions and getting deeper into whatever problem the person has.

What are they struggling with? How can we actually help them? Does the offer help them solve that problem?

Closing The Sale

Once you get to that point you want to transition to booking your sales. That is basically the process that we use.

I’ve been building communities for the last 2 years. Mostly utilising Facebook groups as the platform to do so.

Now I am focused on building a mastermind community for online entrepreneurs. This tribe will provide entrepreneurs with the support, accountability and resources they need to build a freedom business.

The vision is to form a community of people who TAKE, TAKE, GIVE instead of just TAKE, TAKE, TAKE.

Because when we have 10-20 people personally helping us reach our goals things happen a lot faster and easier than doing it in isolation.

Entrepreneurship is freaking lonely. Finding your tribe is a massive unlock. Bizvantage can be your tribe.
