Dierdre Tshien has mapped out a very effective strategy for achieving this called the Live Conversion method.
It’s actually about showing up live to your audience you know giving them value and a story and then making an offer and so that’s what Dierdre did.
We did an experiment for a local hospitality business to test the strategy. In their first week online they did over $23,000 in sales.

M stands for messaging. One of the most important things that you need to have clarity in your messaging. That’s essentially how you’re selling to your potential customer. It is through messaging.
If you can’t work out a way to communicate the thing that you’re trying to sell then there’s no way that they can be compelled to buy. So we spend a lot of time on messaging and we have a framework around how to actually test for what messaging lands called Messagelytics. It’s a quick way almost to use split testing to actually test your different messages and and work out, what is the primary one that you should be leading with.
T stands for traffic.
You need to go find your traffic and this is the part that is always i would say one of the hardest things is to find your traffic.
What I’ve kind of done is I’ve distilled it based on my past experiences into what I call the Traffic pyramid.
The Traffic Pyramid
There are four tiers to the traffic pyramid and you want to go up it in a pretty sequential order.
Passive Organic Marketing
The foundational tier which is what I call Passive Organic Marketing and this is pretty much having a presence and building your credibility on social media platforms.
The reason why i call it passive is because in a way it is passive in nature, you’re kind of just hoping that people stumble across it by searching the right hashtags and that you rank in those hashtags or keywords or whatever.
Leveraging Other Peoples Audiences
Then we ascend up into leveraging other people’s audiences and this is things like collaborations. Influencer marketing is a big a big part of it but;
I also encourage my clients to think about the “list builders”. They might not have you know a big following on social media but by virtue of the fact that they’re hustling as a either as a business or they’re a blogger or some kind of expert that can talk to that common purpose that you’ve identified in your messaging.
Then you can actually again leverage them and collaborate with them. It might be working with them in a way where they can directly contact their email their list on your behalf or you’re working with them in a way that is getting visibility from that perspective.
Active Organic Outreach
This is one that people get hang-ups over because this is actually about and finding and reaching out to your potential ideal customers.
This is not a scalable way to run your business long term but it is super important because when you eventually go into the top of the pyramid which is “scaling through paid marketing” the great thing about having done the active organic outreach is that you can start to hone in on your your audience and also continue to hone in on your messaging.
