How To Create Content That Makes People Know, Like And Trust You

Using Stories To Build Your Brand

I started to recognize and better understand like the value of stories and telling a compelling story because I always like to think that you can have the best product in the world that can help the most people but if you don’t sell the idea and the story behind that product people aren’t really gonna understand why they should buy it.

Stories Are Universal

Stories are kind of what connect us all. We laugh at jokes that comedians tell because oftentimes they’re relatable. We understand people better and connect with them when we can see ourselves in their shoes and we know exactly what they’ve been through.

Let’s say for example someone struggled with something that I maybe have struggled with myself and that storytelling ability and just being relatable being personable is kind of what draws that connection. It’s just more entertaining and more fun and it builds that human connection that we all kind of seek.

So How Do We Do It?

I feel like the first thing you have to do is ask yourself why. So why are you wanting to create a brand? Why are you wanting to educate people on something or create a product? I think the narrowing down on why you’re doing that and kind of having in a way like a mission a vision for where you want it to go is the most important thing you need to start with.

So figure out your why and from there you can in a way reverse engineer what you want to do. So let’s say five years from now I personally want to be able to travel around the world and tell stories that inspire people like that’s my kind of personal why.

Just figure out the tasks and the goal, the small goals that you have to achieve in order to get to your why and in a way live out what you dreamed because also I think the biggest thing is if you don’t have a reason for actually doing what you’re doing, you’re gonna one burn out super quickly. You’re gonna lose motivation, lose passion and what you’re doing. It makes it a lot more difficult than it has to be because if you do something you love you never work a day in your life.

Incorporate Something You Enjoy Into Your Storytelling

You’ve got to enjoy what you’re doing otherwise it’s just not going to happen.

Whatever type of content you’re creating, there’s got to be a little spark of interest where the times when you kind of don’t want to do it you still do it.

The best way to go about your life is at the intersection of a couple different things.

Focus on what you’re passionate about and what you’re good at and ideally what you can also make money with.

How To Do It

I’ve kind of diagrammed out the different things that I want to do. I focused mostly on twitter. I managed to build great connections there and made some really good friends there.

Using Social Media To Validate Ideas

You can validate an idea in real time just based on the nature of the platform so you have about 270 characters to write something. A lot of the time people only think of twitter as like a place where you can debate about politics, but if you get and connect with the right people, it can be very valuable. You can learn a bunch of different things and that’s kind of where I started to really get into marketing.

Maybe I’d put a tweet about the best marketing tips that I know. For example, Disney is one of the best companies at marketing. I wrote a tweet about that just as an idea.

Then I turned that into a longer blog article.

Next I made it into a twitter thread. It’s kind of like a vlog article in a way for specifically twitter.

Repurpose Your Content

You don’t always have to come with original content ideas. A lot of times you’ll already have ideas that you can repurpose from the past. Maybe you created a great youtube video and put a lot of effort into it. You can break that down to individual tiktok videos. You can break that down into a twitter thread or a blog article or even an email. There’s so many different ways that you can go about creating content but just adding different bits and pieces from one single idea and then using so many different platforms to get your word out and start building a bigger audience.
