When You Post 500 Pieces Of Content & NOBODY Cares With Darius Tan
I was just about like 18 or 19 years old back then and so I decided to follow Gary V’s advice and post lots of content on social media.
I was posting three pieces of content every single day. It took me about four to five hours just to manage one Instagram account.
That’s like four to five hours every day for six months straight.
I posted three content pieces a day. That’s about 540 pieces of content I produced in six months.
The most embarrassing and the most fearful thing to me was that I produced 540 pieces of content but when I looked at the followers I had 500 followers. I had less followers than the number of pieces of content I created itself.
That was really embarrassing to me.
I’m not sure why I was so blockheaded and dumb to just keep going through and doing the same thing, again and again, even if it doesn’t work.
The number one thing it is for people on social media is to understand that content and the quantity of content is not everything.
It’s not about the quantity but it’s more about the quality nowadays.
I know a lot of people like to argue that you just have to keep producing content until you become good at it, yes I do agree with that. So yes, that quality comes after quantity to some degree
What we’re seeing over here on social media in terms of facebook, instagram and all the other platforms itself is that you see a whole flood of information coming in.
A lot of this content is mediocre
If you post mediocre content, you just get lost in the noise.
